It’s perhaps the most famous case in American true crime. Who murdered JonBenét Ramsey?

  1. I have heard so many people, both lay people and professionals, bring up the point about JonBenet telling her friend or her friend’s mother about a secret visit from Santa or another visit from Santa after Christmas day. They want to use this to show that some creepy guy was planning to meet JonBenet secretly. To me, the simplest and very reasonable explanation about this is that her parents told her that Santa was going to visit her later that week when they went to Michigan for another family Christmas gathering. This is such a simple answer and just seems reasonable that they would want her to be excited about going to Michigan to see her step siblings. I have followed the case closely, researched, read books & articles and it seems obvious that it was someone in the family. It may have been an accident & covered up, but there was no intruder! Just the ransom note itself is something that cannot be explained away. I wish that Fleet White & his wife would tell what they know, because I believe they know something, or at least strongly suspect something.

  2. Extremely well done series. I suggest everyone reads Paula Woodward’s book Unsolved: The JonBenet Ramsey case 25 Yrs Later. So much of what we were told is false, entirely false.

  3. In order to believe that the Ramseys had anything to do with this, you would have to believe they absolute pychos. If they covered up for Burke, you would have to think that the parents weren’t expecting the killing. Upon finding out he killed her, they immediately flip into whack job mode and bring her downstairs, tie an elaborate knot on a garrot, strangle her with it, put duct tape over her mouth and leave her there, then go upstairs and write a crazy 3 page ransom letter filled with terms like beheaded, and execution, get rid of some of the evidence, but not all, then call 911. That’s a level of nuts that would be seen SOMEWHERE else in their lives. In the interviews I’ve seen, nothing points to the level of crazy they would have to be to do all of that in the way it was done. Same goes for Patsy doing it herself. She’s going to tie that knot? Sexually assault her, then write that elaborate nutty note along with everything else that was done? Come on. That kind of crazy doesn’t just go away and never show up in some way.

  4. I REALLY loved these episodes because they hacked right through all of the BS that the CORRUPT MEDIA continually vomited out, all of the rumors, lies and Wannabe Armchair Detectives who destroyed this poor family’s lives and never allowed them the chance to grieve in solitude. Alice and Brett went to the FACTS, EVIDENCE and the LACK of real investigation that happened from Day 1. I was in school at the time, studying criminology, and this case was plastered all over the “news,” which has ALWAYS shoved sensationalism first, regardless of facts – and the Usenets (I think that was what we called them??) just crucified them with all of the ludicrous allegations and rumors. and most of these people were like me; young liberals with NO kids, NO adult experience, and ALOT of raging opinions about people with kids, adult experience…and of course….rich white people. This was a country full of people ready to hate a wealthy white couple who’d just lost their baby to a heinous crime – all because they were wealthy white people.

I listened to “news” reporters throwing their stupid opinions out there, and they always went back to blaming the family. I listened to my idol of the time, John Douglas – and when he said he knew they were innocent, that was enough for me. And decades later, they’ve pretty much been absolved, but long after Patsy died as a suspect, Burk has been smeared across social media and so-called ‘true crime books’ written by loser hacks who want to make a buck off of the Ramsey name – and he had to grow up defending himself, his family, and even suing and winning, for defamation. What kind of monsters are these people who continually victimize a victim’s family?????

  5. I think that the house was not searched well initially and the kidnapper held Jonbenet in the house somewhere, which is why she was not initially found. After the police were called, she was killed and left in the wine room. While the perp escaped the house. The police did such a poor job securing the house this seems absolutely plausible to me.
