197. Adnan Syed and the Murder of Hae Min Lee Part 1 of 14 — Bad Dream

It’s perhaps the most famous case in all of true crime. On January 13, 1999, in Baltimore, Maryland, a high school senior named Hae Min Lee vanished. When her body was found, buried in a shallow grave, suspicion fell on her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed. But even now, people wonder whether he murdered her—or was framed.

  1. I love this podcast. The way you dig in to the details, instead of just telling the story, makes me a loyal listener. However, I will be stepping away, at least for 14 weeks. That’s too long for me. I need to see an end in sight.😕.

  2. I know you will be shocked 😳 but I have never heard of this case 🤷‍♀️I’m an avid listener to yours(love you two) as well as others but somehow missed this one.

  3. This is my first time listening to this podcast but have listened to and watched tons of Adnan coverage in the past. I want to point out that I do t think it’s weird that Adnan and Jay might not be that close but Adnan still was compelled to make sure Jay got Steph a gift. Adnan is best friends with Steph, it seems super plausible that Steph complained to Adnan about Jay’s flightiness and likely made some sort of comment about how he’d probably forget her bday. It makes sense that he would tell Jay in an effort to help his friend. That doesn’t feel like a stretch and I don’t think you can assume that they were closer friends because Adnan told Jay to treat his girl right.
