  1. I am from Missoula, MT and am always horrified at the number of missing indigenous women cases we have in MT. We still have billboards up around town of Jermain asking for any information. There has been at least some move to educate our children about this issue. My daughter was in 8th grade several years ago and she said law enforcement came to her school to specifically discuss Jermaine. I don’t know exactly what was said but my daughter said they told them facts about the case. She was frustrated that law enforcement said they could not get access to the ex-boyfriend’s property for an in-depth search on his land since he remains their top suspect. She would bring this up whenever we drove up Evaro hill to go out of town because she said that is where his property is located. Not sure why this was a discussion with 8th graders but I’m really hoping this was an attempt to raise awareness in our state about these missing women. I grew up here and was certainly not aware of the huge number of missing women until I returned to Missoula after completing college and grad school elsewhere. Still blows my mind so many people remain unaware but at the very least law enforcement has brought this issue up at local schools prompting the children to come home and discuss what they learned with their families. We obviously still have a long way to go. . .
